[5] male characters

It took me a while, but here they are. My future husbands. I'm usually more invested in female character, so I thought finding five for this would be hard. I was wrong. I forgot how the TV (and film for that matter) business is still very male-dominated (you should all read up on the Bechdel test, it's pretty sick). Though, it was actually harder to choose for this than for the females, because there's so many more to choose from, and too few that I'm really invested in.

Mal Reynolds (Firefly, portrayed by Nathan Fillion)
Sometimes I feel like calling myself Mal, and that's because Mal from Firefly is cool. I like Nathan Fillion in Castle as well, but Firefly is just something else.

Jim Moriarty (Sherlock, portrayed by Andrew Scott)
I debated myself on whether I wanted to pick Sherlock or Moriarty for this. Moriarty won 'cause he's better looking. 'S gonna be sad if he's really dead and doesn't return for series 3.

Dale Cooper (Twin Peaks, portrayed by Kyle MacLachlan)
I said this before, but I was so in love with Agent Cooper the first time I watched Twin Peaks. Isn't he just dreamy? Still practically my definition of the perfect man.

Fox Mulder (X-Files, portrayed by David Duchovny)
I don't even know what to say. It's Mulder, I think it speaks for itself.

The Doctor ((new) Doctor Who, portrayed by Christopher Eccleston, David Tennant and Matt Smith)
I contemplated picking only one of the Doctors, but then I thought 'why?' I think they're all pretty great in their own way. Can't speak for the Doctors from old DW, though, because I have yet to watch it (there's just SO many seasons!).
Next up is five OTP's. Now that's gonna be tricky to pick out. I am the WORST shipper.

[5] female characters

I had/have huge girl-crushes on all of these characters. I girl-crush quite easily and always take it to a super awkward level. Mostly on, but not limited to, older (than me) female characters. I don't even want to know what that says about me. Anyway, here they are:

Alex Drake (Ashes to Ashes, portrayed by Keeley Hawes)
I've seen her irl! Or rather, the actress that plays her. When Cicci and I were in London we went to National Theatre and saw Rocket to the Moon were she played one of the leading roles. I want to say it was crazy, but it really wasn't, it was just me who was.

Dana Scully (X-Files, portrayed by Gillian Anderson)
My favourite ginger in the whole wide world. Probably my biggest girl-chrush to date, since it keeps resurfacing every time I rewatch X-Files.

Kate Beckett (Castle, portrayed by Stana Katic)
Two words for you: HAIR PORN.

Olivia Dunham (Fringe, portrayed by Anna Torv)
My baby. Twice actually, because Alt-Livia is my baby too. There's no version of Olivia that I don't love. Also quite a lot of hair porn going on for her.

Regina Mills aka the Evil Queen (Once Upon a Time, portrayed by Lana Parrilla)
aka the only reason to watch OUaT. I know I said this before, but I can't stress it enough. To watch Lana, in the costumes and hair and everything in this show is heaven, but every second she's not on is hell. Such a shame, it could have been so great.
Stay tuned for 5 male characters! ~

[10] tv shows

Meet my lovers. Originally the challenge was just to pick out five TV-shows, but I changed it to ten, because five was far to few. I figured ten would be more than enough. I was wrong. I had to kill some of my darlings for this, like Rizzoli and Isles, 30 Rock and Wire in the Blood. But this is a neat mix of my all time favourites, current obsessions and just some sheer epicness that would have been a crime to leave out. Hope you enjoy. All of these are shows you NEED to watch. In alphabetical order:

The Addams Family (1964-1966)
If you haven't seen this, then you're not a true Addams Family fan. This is the real shit. It's actually very different from the films from 1991 and 1993, it's more fun and comedy, and morbid in a less gory way. Very quality for being almost 50 years old.

Ashes to Ashes (2008-2010)
Ashes is a sequel to Life on Mars, from 2006. You should probably watch that before Ashes, or you will be seriously confused. As I'm sure I've told you before, I watched it the other way around, but it only worked because I already knew what happened in LoM, because my dear BFF Sanna told me. When Ashes was still on air in 2010, it was much like it is with Once now, it was the ONLY thing I talked about. I have a very obsessive personality when it comes to things like this, in case you haven't noticed. Anyway, if you're gonna watch this and LoM, make sure it's the British version, and not the American, because that would be the wrong version. Very wrong.

Castle (2009- )
I've been a sucker for crime shows since always. I got stuck on Castle because it has this mystery touch to most of the crimes, which makes it a bit more exciting. It's also a fangirl's dream, since not shipping Castle and Beckett is close to impossible. And just look at Stana Katic's face. How is she even real? And if you search hair porn on Urban Dictionary, Stana Katic's hair is the first suggestion. Just sayin'.

Doctor Who (2005- )
I don't even know what to say. This show has everything I could dream of. Aliens, costume drama, crime, magic (sort of) and people in suits. What more can a girl ask for?

Firefly (2002-2003)
I only watched Firefly for the first time late last spring, and it took a while before I got caught in it, but since then I've rewatched it three times. Just, you know, space, and grungy outfits, crime and... space. I'm just gonna go ahead and state the obvious: It shouldn't have been cancelled after just once season. It was a really bad move, Fox!

Fringe (2008-2013)
Oh, my darling darling Fringe. You will always have a special place in my heart. You set the bar so high for new TV-shows, and I think there is yet to come one as great as you. Anna Torv is a godess in so many ways. I still refuse to accept that it has in fact ended now. I am watching the final episodes later tonight, and are therefore avoiding tumblr and twitter right now. I don't know how to handle this in any other way than denial.

Once Upon a Time (2011- )
The show I LOVE to HATE. I know I said in the beginning of this post that these are all TV-show that you need to watch. I meant, except for this one. It's the best tv-show idea executed in the worst possible way. If you have yet not sold your soul to Once, then DON'T DO IT. It's really pretty awful. And just when you think that it can't get any worse, it does. The only thing that makes it worthwhile is Lana Parrilla as Regina aka Snow White's Evil Queen. She is absolutely amazing and must have been born for this role. If she is ever killed off or leaves the show for whatever reason, I will stop watching. I don't even care about what happens afterwards. Actually I don't even care about what happens in the show now, I just want to watch Lana.

Sherlock (2010- )
So few episodes, so much quality. And we're probably not even half through the wait for the next series. I will never forget when s02e03 ended, and the god-awful cliff hanger. We just want to know what happened!

Twin Peaks (1990-1991)
This show ended with the worst cliff hanger ever, and we will never know what happened. It's the worst. I'm actually planning on rewatching this now, because I haven't seen it in ages. I was SO in love with Agent Cooper the last time around. He's just... ah. And Audrey Horne is pretty badass. I also used to know the whole Fire Walk with Me poem/whatever-it-was by heart. Need to relearn it.

X-Files (1993-2002)
I love this show so much I have actually permanently marked my body with one of it's catch phrases. Most of you probably know that on the inside of my left forearm it says "I WANT TO BELIEVE". If that's not commitment then I don't know what is. Scully is my ever ongoing girl crush, but I'm actually a lot more like Mulder. Because I really do want to believe. I take much pride in having seen every single episode, except for one, but it was from season 9, so it's okay.
There you go. See you soon for 5 female characters. I don't even know how I'm supposed to pick out only five?

TV-show challenge

I like me some challenges. But as much as I love the 30-days ones, they give me angst. So when I found this smaller one on tumblr, I figured why not. Not gonna post everyday for this, but maybe once/twice a week. Some of you are gonna think this is really lame, but I quite honestly don't care. Now I'm gonna pick out my ten TV-shows and do some screencaping.

Day XXX - Something from your favourite store

Last day, YAYUS. Anyhooow, these boots are actually DIY's made from pieces from H&M clothes. I picked H&M as my favourite store because I really don't have one and I think it's kinda cool that we're from the same country and all. And I was wearing these today, so...
The actual boots were 75 SEK on sale (and my mum payed for them so really I got them "for free") and the aztec-kinda-native-american pattern knit things are sleaves from an old knitted shirt I chopped to pieces because I didn't like the model anymore. Basically I just put them on the boots and that was it. I did it this morning and it took like two minutes. It's all because I'm so into the Luxury Jones boots on Solestuck, but never in my life would I buy them because they're insanely overpriced. Especially when you can easily make your own smiliar boots for like nothing. They're knee-high and I think they're pretty awesome. And having them on makes me want to bouce everywhere all the time, like a crazy person.
I took outfit photos with these this morning. We'll see if I end up editing anything tonight, or if the pics even turned out good. But hopefully you'll see my beauties in their full glory sometime soon.

Day XXIX - Something that is your favourite brand

Vivienne Westwood ♥
Highly doubt this piece is the real thing though, since Sanna got it for me in Camden in London. But it's quite quality and well made for a knock-off.
Other favourite brands of mine are Alexander McQueen and Ginvenchy. And I'm a bit into Balmain at the moment as well.

Day XXVIII - An outfit you are ashamed to say you wore

Yeah, again, I'm not doing this because of reasons said in the day 26 challenge. Besides I wouldn't really have any pictures.
I'm away today, so this is cued. Fitting that the post I can't really do is on the day I can't make a post.

Day XXVII - A hat

Day XXVI - A mismatched outfit that you’d never wear

(go wild: earrings, belts, crazy skirts etc)
Sorry guys, but it's just not going to happen. I can't bring myself to do it. I don't know how to anymore. Because basically, my fashion sense when I was fifteen was MISMATCH in capital letters. I think I empitied it all out then. Can't do it anymore. Instead I'm gonna show you these pictures from when I was indeed fifteen, because it's very relevant to the topic of the challenge and I feel like sharing this stuff. I wish I had better examples of my mismatch/over-matching way of dressing, but like for a lot of other people my age, all photos from our younger teenage years are lost from when our parent's old computer broke down years ago. I was kinda Goth-loli/Decora, and you can google it, if you feel like researching.
I don't look back and think I was crazy for putting this shit on. It's a time of my life and a part of the development of my personal style that I value very highly, and it has a big part in making me who I am today. I don't for a second regret any fashion choices I ever made. And I believe that if you do, and I realize how pretentious I sound saying this, then you can't be that comfortable with yourself.
It's like with everything else about me that people complain to me about. You can mock me for having been wapanese, emo, punk rocker (which is the one thing I absolutely never was, but have been called the most times), being hipster or whatever. I'm not ashamed, I don't care and most of all, in the words of Amy Poehler,: I don't fucking care if you like it.

Day XXV - Shoes you love but hardly wear

It's not them, it's me. Really. They're comfortable and easy to walk in, but they absolutely KILL my feet after a very short while. It's because my feet are weird, not the shoes. In the begining it was no problem, but the pain I get has gotten a lot worse lately. Most shoes kill my feet after a while these days, but these are the worst. I literally can't walk after a couple of hours. I know this because I wore them to school once for a whole day and at the end of it I wanted to chop my feet of so the pain would go away. I think it's because of the all-wood heel and platform that makes it harder for the shoe to form after my feet in the area where it hurts. If I were a sane person I'd sell them, since I won't be able to use them much unless I have surgery again, but I love them SO much. They were my first JC's and I've loved them dearly since the first time I ever even saw a picture of them. They are my own personal heartbreakers.
I don't know if I've written about this, but the problem I have with my feet is that I have Hallux Valgus. Now, this is very common, and as I understand it it doesn't hurt for all people. At least not much and not until you're older. It's treatable through surgery. I started feeling pain when I was 15, and had surgery on both of my feet, right one in '07 and left in '09. The pain went away completely a while after this, but for the past six months it's been coming back in my left foot. I'm really dreading having another surgery, because I still have serious scarring from the first times and just the thought about them cutting it open again creeps me out. And I'm not even sensitive to that shit. Besides, it's only been three years since last time? How much doesn't that suck? I can't go through life having my feet cut open and bone sawn into every three to five years? Which means I have to live with the pain and not be able to wear my favourite shoes longer than a few hours. It's a bummer, but what can you do? First world problems and all that.
But guys, if you have what I have and if you're in pain because of it: have surgery. If you're lucky it goes away the first time and it'll never bother you again. Those three pain free years totally made it worth it!

Day XXIV - Your favourite pair of shoes

Le obvious choice.

Day XXIII - An article of clothing/ accessory that you consider lucky

These are my lucky crosses. Despite what you may think, it's not for religious purposes. I don't know why I consider them lucky. I think I've just been wearing them on a lot of good days and there's a lot of positive energy about them for me.

Day XXII - Something you only wear in the summer

During summertime, or just when the weather is warm, like when I was on Tenerife or Mallorca, I live in this dress. It's a maxi with a tube cut. The fabric is so nice when it's warm, and it's kinda comfortably heavy, so it falls very nicely. I wish I had more ones like it, in more colours and patterns, so I wouldn't have to wear this every day. It's a bit tacky, but it works when you're abroad and in a warmer climate.
Now it's just hanging outside, because it's cold so I don't use it, so I don't miss it and therefore forget to take it inside. It's been hanging there for weeks... I only saw it by accident when I was taking outfit photos and figured it was perfect for today's challenge.

Day XX - Your jewelry box

As you can see in my previous challenge post I don't keep my jewelry in a box. But I still have a few. This one is my favourite. My parents got it for we when we were in abroad (I actually don't remember where we were, Greece maybe?) when I was a kid. I keep my gemstones and glass balls and other shiny stuff in it.

Day XIX - All your earrings, rings, necklaces and/or bracelets

So this is where I keep all the jewelry that I use, or want to use but never do. This is an old picture, but I figured since I have this, and it basically looks the same now, I'd just re-use it. Naturally I've go more now, but not that much more than it qualifies for a new shot.

Day XVIII - A piece of jewelry that you made

I had a period of time when I was really into braiding with more than three pieces. During this time I made a lot of bracelets. If you've been around since I had my other old blog (postbedtime), then you might remember this, because I wore a lot of them (I think it was maybe in 2009). The only one of these that I still kinda like is this one, that I think is made from some sort of synthetic white leather.

Day XVII - An article of clothing that you made or altered

I alter clothes all the time. And I make a fair share as well. The lastest I did was these boots, which originally were just a pair of plain boots I bought at Primark for maybe £10 or less. I never really got around and wore them. But lately I've been completely adoring the Luxury Jones collection at Solestruck, and since I'm in no way able to afford a real pair, I figured, why not "make one". So yeah. This is it. Not as fabulous as the real deal, but close enough. All the stuff I put on are things I had lying around at home, nothing fancy whatsoever. Haven't worn them yet, but thinking of doing so tomorrow. If I can bear to part from my beloved 8th Streets.
I'm gonna write you guys a post about Castle later. Whether you like it or not. I AM SO EXCITED!

Day XVI - You and someone wearing matching clothes

So, I went ahead and did today's challenge in the weird way. Hillevi (aka my arch-enemy) and I decided weeks ago that today we were both gonna wear overalls (or call it jumpsuits if you prefer that, but I like overalls in this case), only for the sake of my challenge. We also did a short video when we're doing "the Awkward-fast-sassy-dance", which is our speciality. Although, I fear that it may be without sound (which is half the fun, because it comes with an improvised song), so we might have to re-do that one for you some day.
And I don't know what I'm doing with my face. I'm having a bad-look-day. I overslept + had an allergy attack last night, so no extra hair and no make-up today. You'll have to excuse me. But I do have a sassy bun on top of my head, and that has to count for something, right?

Day XV - Your newest purchase

Clothing-wise I think it's this sweater from H&M. Funny story actually. Cicci bought one just like it when we were out shopping together ages ago (maybe like a year or so), and I've been searching for it ever since. And then in Copenhagen last Saturday I saw it and I had to buy it. Finally. It's the softest, coziest sweater ever, and I've basically been wearing it every day since I bought it, even if only for like an hour when I come home from school. I think I payed around 200 SEK, but I'm not sure, since the price tag was in DKR and I don't remember exactly what it was.

Day XIV - Cute socks

These are above-the-knee-high socks from River Island. I got them on a sale (+free shipping) for like £2 or something. I am such a sucker for lace trimmed socks. I have four pairs I think, including these, in pink, white and black. I rarely use them tough, because they tend to make my legs look shorter, and since I'm already short, I don't really need that, do I?
